O nas / About us

SP 11 is located in Lubelski region which is one of the poorest in Poland. Puławy is a town which used to be industrial area but has suffered an industrial collapse with the closing down many important companies in the town. A lot of parents of our students have been made redundant and have difficulty in finding new jobs. In our school there is a percentage of pupils confronted with hardship because their parents are unemployed/have low income or are left to work abroad. They are raised by their grandparents or relatives who substitute the parents working abroad. We have in school special integrated class with pupils with special needs as they are physically disabled. In school there are over 830 students and 80 teachers. We are the biggest primary school in our region. It has got well equipped classrooms, canteen, after- school club, library. There is a Multimedia Centre with modern computers. Sports area is located in the separated part of the school: big and small gyms and a swimming pool. The school was modernized. There was also built modern and safe playgrounds and new complex of pitches. The school is a thriving cultural and social centre. The school community actively participates in social, cultural and educational life of Puławy by organising a wide variety of events. We promote didactic as well as educational achievements. Having realised a huge advantage which results from widespread knowledge of foreign languages we started cooperating with the International Programme in 2004.Over the present moment we took part in 6 students’ exchanges based on the Socrates, Comenius, Erasmus Programme, 4 teachers mobilities based on Erasmus+, POWER programmes and we started eTwinning projects. Our international partnerships have proved that we can be an ideal partner for schools of the same intellectual capacity and we can contribute to recognizing Poland as an equal partner. We are determined to teach our national heritage and combine it with the modern ways of providing knowledge through digital media and web resources. as the first school in our region over 15 years ago. Language skills, ICT, getting to know different cultures, history and tradition about other nationalities becomes precious for our students. The whole school community will be involved in the project but as the vast majority of the teachers do not know foreign languages we want to create Erasmus + group consisting with the teachers who speak English or other European language well. This team will be working in unity to make sure all the objectives are met and all the activities carried out providing help and experience when needed. In case someone fails at being in charge for some reason the next person from the team will step in. Our headteachers speak English in a communicative way too. Coordinator of the project is well experienced in the carrying out European projects and some eTwinning projects. She's also worked for the Town Hall helping in the exchange programes between partners' towns.
