Beauty of Croatia


At the beginning of May 2023, students of the First Primary School in Čakovec from Croatia, under the guidance of teacher Branka Hranjec, painted in the monotype technique the Croatian iris (iris croatica), which became the Croatian national flower in 2000 because it is treated as a special species and as an endemic. During the activity, the students reflected on man's bad and careless attitude towards nature, but also expressed their observations that man also takes care to prevent pollution, founds various organizations that take care of the environment, reforests, grows and plants plants.
The students got to know and researched the expressive features of the monotype technique as a graphic technique, but also got to know the concept of printing.

In November, a competition for the best PowerPoint presentation about our school was announced among the 8th-grade students. For the competition  a lot of wonderful  presentations  entered. The jury is impressed not only with the ICT and language skills of eighth-graders, but also with an interesting look at our school reality.
